2020 MS Melbourne Cycle is now 


Saturday, 21 March 2020 - Sunday, 22 March 2020!


You can ride to fight MS, wherever you are. It’s time to put all that training to good use and continue to show your support and fundraise for people living with multiple sclerosis.

Complete your ride locally or from indoors with a stationary bike anytime on
Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2020.

Regardless of whether you have requested a refund, converted your registration fee to a donation or rolled over into 2021, you are automatically registered for the MS Virtual Melbourne Cycle event. 

The funds that you raise ensure that people living with multiple sclerosis get the vital support they need to meet their goals, live well and ensure that no one has to face MS alone.

Getting outdoors and being active is a wonderful way to reduce stress levels and maintain overall health. In order to support public safety and wellness please exercise caution, such as avoiding peak times at your park of choice and practicing good hygiene.

Map out your ride to fight MS

Whether you live in the North, South East or West of the city, we have some course suggestions for you or why not ride your favourite spot.

Merri Creek Trail
Mahoney’s Road, Broadmeadows to Dights Falls Reserve, Abbotsford (or reverse) A neat 20km even ride along this trail which is flat and easy.

Beach Road (St. Kilda to Mordialloc – or reverse)
Ride the iconic Beach Road up to 45km point to point or part of it beginning at St Kilda or further south. This road surface will suit all types of bikes and is for riders who are confident in a shared traffic environment.

Lilydale to Warburton Rail 
This reclaimed rail line is purpose built for safe cycling and offers up to 40km of riding and scenery east of Melbourne. There are more bite size options to accommodate all users.

Yarra Boulevard, Cremorne (between City and Richmond)
Taking in the beautiful Yarra Bend and Studley Park this ride can be up to 39km of path or stick to the river paths to reduce the distance.

Maribrynong River Trail
From Brimbank Park, Keilor East to Morelands Street, Footscray (or reverse) This mixture of gravel, asphalt and suburban back streets takes you through the heart of the inner west of Melbourne. Following the Maribyrnong River it’s a pleasant way to clock up to 21km in the saddle.

Bellarine Rail Trail
Geelong to Queenscliff. An easy 32km pedal if you take on the total distance of the rail trail along the Bellarine Penninsula. Purpose built from reclaimed rail lines this crushed gravel trail will work for all bikes and riding abilities.

Westgate Park, Port Melbourne
What this location lacks in size it gains in purpose built track. Better for mountain or hybrid bikes (avoid if you have a carbon, custom road machine!) this 2.5km loop is an easy spot within the city limits.

Capital City Trail, Melbourne
This loop of our liveable city is flat terrain and well documented for ease of navigating. In total you can complete 32km of riding.


Submit your ride!

Track your ride using your favourite fitness app and submit your results by clicking here or via the image below.

We’ll send out a finisher’s medal to everyone that was registered in the 2020 MS Melbourne Cycle and completed an event distance, and to as many new Virtual Registrants as we can! Even if you have asked for your registration to be rolled over, converted to a donation or refunded, you are automatically registered in the virtual event.

Finisher medals will be issued to all virtual participants who originally signed up to the 2020 MS Melbourne Cycle, upon submitting their results. Please note, new participants signing up directly to the MS Virtual  Melbourne Cycle, will receive a finisher medal whilst stocks last.


Health and Safety 

To support public safety and wellness, we recommend avoiding peak times at your park of choice and practising in good hygiene. 
Remember, just because this is a virtual event, we encourage all riders to practice safe riding

For example:

  • Helmet – You are legally required to wear a helmet that meets the Australian standard.  
  • Lights, fluros and reflectors – Make sure these are in good working order, flashing red for the rear and white for the front of your bike.
  • Cycling skills – Know your limits. Training for the ride is not essential but recommended depending on your fitness levels and cycling abilities.
